PSP Honored at Senet-Muse Awards

The PSP last week was honored with three gold Senet-Muse Awards during the MI6: Marketing Interactive ‘06 Conference in San Francisco. Developed by the newly launched Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers (AEIM), the awards program is the first annual competition celebrating achievements by promotion, marketing, and design professionals of the video game and interactive entertainment industry.

Sony Computer Entertainment America took top honors in “Art Direction & Design: TV Ad Campaign” for the PSP Animation Campaign, which was designed to offer a culturally relevant voice for the PSP and provide a platform for entertaining messaging. The PSP Animation Campaign also received a Judges’ Choice award. In addition, the overall PSP launch, driven by dynamic creative concepts and varied media approaches, garnered a gold for SCEA in the “Product Launch Campaign” category.

Recognition for these marketing efforts comes as the PSP continues to lead the next-generation handheld market in North America in terms of units sold, according to NPD Group data. SCEA partnered with TBWA Chiat/Day and OMD to create and execute the PSP campaigns.

SCEA also was honored with the Landmark Award for Excellence in Consumer Branding, while the SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs official game site (created by Zugara) netted a silver Senet-Muse Award.
