MLB '06: The Show David Ortiz Mo-Cap Video
At six-feet, four-inches tall and 230-pounds, Boston Red Sox Designated Hitter David Ortiz is one of the most feared hitters in the "Bigs" and affectionately know as “Big Papi” by the Red Sox Nation. Ortiz, the cover athlete for MLB ’06 The Show, was recently in San Diego for a Motion Capture session, essentially putting on a show and displaying why he is a perennial homerun threat.
The SCEA San Diego Studio utilizes top professional athletes for game consulting on true-to-life Artificial Intelligence and in motion capture sessions in order to develop and deliver the most realistic gameplay available. MLB '06: The Show features more than 3,000 personalized stances, pitching animations, individual swings, batting rituals, pitcher release points, emotions, etc.
Due to hit stores this spring exclusively for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) system as the only officially licensed first party videogame by the MLB, and the longest running officially licensed baseball franchise on the PlayStation platforms, MLB ’06 The Show is set to continue its reign as the most authentic baseball simulation available.
