In addition to all the
coming classics compilations Capcom is releasing a
collection of its most beloved puzzle games of the past. Capcom Puzzle World will include
three classic puzzle games: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Block Block, and the Buster Bros. Collection.
I know a lot of gamers that would be happy with just Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, myself included. It’s a unique twist on the Tetris style of puzzle games, where players try and gather gems of the same color into the same area. When a round gem is placed on a gem of the same color it pops, causing all other gems of that color adjacent to it to pop as well.
On top of the original
game two new modes will be added that have never been released in
Block Block is also a block breaking style puzzle game. It actually
offers a co-op mode, so instead of play against your friend you can work
together to try and clear the screen.
Originally released on the Playstation, Buster Bros. Collection is included in Puzzle World. This collection compiles Buster Bros., Super Buster Bros., and Buster Baddies into one game. In case you aren’t familiar with Buster Bros., your job is to navigate your character across two dimensions as he is aiming straight up. Bubbles bounce around the screen and you have to pop them all without touching them. Bigger ones split into smaller ones, and the longer you let them bounce around the lower they bounce. Each version of Buster Bros. features different game modes, so there are plenty of ways to get your Buster Bros. fix.
A few other features
Puzzle World has to offer are the ability to take screenshots or to import your
own personal pictures into Buster Bros. to use as a background image while you
play. Wireless multiplayer is supported, so all the multiplayer modes are
intact. The games have also been visually retouched and made to support the
16x9 aspect ratio of the PSP screen.
Capcom Puzzle World is sounding like an
addicting collection of very fun puzzle games. Expect to be popping bubbles and
dropping gems fourth quarter of this year.
